We are looking for seasoned engineering director to join this exciting software company. This senior position will lead a team of engineers in the research, design and development of multiple product initiatives around mobile device management applications.  The candidate must demonstrate proven engineering management skill and experience to lead, coach and deliver innovative management application products above and beyond users’ expectation. Responsibilities:

• As the Director of Engineering, this person has the responsibility (and not limited) to:
• Provide leadership in design, development and delivery of innovative mobile device management applications.
• Work with Product Managers in the definition and prioritization of mobile device management application products requirements
• Manage team to ensure delivery of management applications meets or exceeds time, quality and budget expectation.
• Work with platform engineering team to define platform service requirements which management applications depend on.
• Work with solution engineering team to make sure management applications meet end-to-end solution expectation and be customizable.
• Work with client engineering team to make sure management applications are able to manage mobile devices in all aspects and offer differentiated values with the company’s clients.
• Work with Engineering Program Manager to provide project task plans, resource planning, identifying interdependencies and risk management plans
• Direct internal group reviews to provide leadership and guidance on alternatives to challenges with respect to technical design, scope, quality and schedule.
• Lead the team on bug triage and resolution path discussion among platform, solution, client development team as well as with QA, publication and engineering program management.
• Continuously refine the management application delivery process to reduce time-to-market while maintaining superb product quality.
• Contribute to all technical requirements for mobile device management.
• Coach, mentor and develop development engineer’s career path

Requirements:

• Senior development manager with 10+ years of product development experience in mobile wireless, system and/or network management application products.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussion, drill down on technical details and be able to facilitate and converge technical discussion with diverse opinions
• Demonstrated experience and leadership in the successful delivery of multiple products across multiple organizational boundaries
• Appreciation of user experience, simplicity and value-added end-to-end management applications in client/server solution offerings.
• Experience in full software product development life cycle processes
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate highly tuned influencing and negotiating skills with engineers and other engineering peers.
• Practical development experience using Agile Software Development Methodologies
• Energetic, passion, creative and solution oriented

Highly Desirables:

• Familiarity with deployment to top-tier telecommunication operator environment
• Familiarity with development support to mobile handset OEM
• Familiarity with WebLogic Application Server and Oracle database applications
• Understanding of UNIX internals, preferably Solaris
• Familiarity with network protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, SNMP
• Java or C/C++ development experience a plus
